The Dead are not a quiz. :)

I totally agree with rastamon. I flew up from LA to see those shows. Best I recollect, they rotated the bill and I remember the Dead closing on Saturday. I was in awe of the Who and the Dead played all right. A draw in my opinion. On Sunday, I remember the Dead opening the day in the morning and rocking out. It was an OMG show for us. When the Who came out, we looked at each other after the first few songs and said, they're playing the same frickin show. And we left. Snooty Dead Heads were we. At least that's my 65 yo recollection of times gone way past.

Thanks. I'll have to check that out. I just recently stumbled across the Who @ the Isle of Wight in 1970. Cable can be a wonderful thing. It blew me away - made me see them in a renewed light. The energy was explosive.

Yup...Pete has clearly more in his arsenal than many critics have allowed, IMHO. IE, I came to the table, prior to seeing that, with having seen him live, etc., and loving some of his acoustic work, but thinking alot of it was "show" and "flash" and what have you; he does some amazing things in that night--pure and simple, it reveals a significant talent level that was a shock to me too...
